Chrysalis Outreach Midwives is a team of midwives working in partnership with Dr. Kate Gerster and the Evolve Group of Obstetricians, as well as many community partners to make sexual and reproductive health care accessible in Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough area.

We are a special midwifery team because we work only with:

1) people with complex social lives where life challenges make it difficult to get to regular appointments and

2) newcomers to Canada who do not have health insurance (OHIP or student UHIP).

Our services are free even if you don’t have a health card!

• Pregnancy testing

• Pregnancy care (you can come to us no matter how many weeks you are)

• Medication abortion care until 10 weeks & help navigating to surgical abortions

• Postpartum care for infants and adults (up to 8 weeks postpartum)

• Collaborative care model with access to obstetric and pediatric care at Peterborough Regional Health Centre for labour and birth

• Counselling and prescribing for birth control

• Access to Pap tests and other STI screening

• Referrals and advocacy
